Jacketed Arm Chair

My goodness if a chair was to be covered with a jacket, what would that be like? Well, I had this perfect arm chair built from the bare bones transforming that vision. (And its not the first time. Many designers have routed this road all too many times). It is a our first floor sample upholstery combining two fabrics. Where the solid, chocolate fabric is on the outside I call it a chair's jacket. It's the contrasting fabric covering the back side of a chair.
We received this shipment in January for our Spring Upholstery. The back is in ribbed cotton (chocolate); the front is in cut velvet. It retails less than $1000. And I must say it's a show stopper: the price and the chic fabrics.

Petite and Meat

We love the piece from www.hookerfurniture.com. It's a petite writing desk but it's pack with serious details at the top, inside, and with the Jacobean detailed legs. So sweet and functional!

Back to Back Bloggings?

We are not sure about the back to back belongings. That might be too ambitious considering we haven't had the time for last 18 months. So for now I will settle for "the occasional" blog posting.

Today let us look at this awesome vanity chair from Hooker Furniture, NC - www.hookerfurniture.com. It is upholstered in script detailed material, with buttons on the back and a feminine little skirt at the base. Now isn't it dainty for every basic to sophisticated dressing table!

Creating A Friendly (and Showing Stopping) Living Room

What are some key elements to consider when furnishing a “show stopper” living room?  Pay attention to the visual appeal, comfort and practicality of each piece respectively.   Use your  all of your senses to achieve these elements.  Bring in a professional, a friend or spouse to help select the fabrics.  The process can be time consuming.  So the more help you can get the better.  Consider selecting one sofa with a repetitive pattern on a soft and beautiful background.  Bring in one or two skirted, arm chairs (depending the size of the room) to coordinate with the sofa.  Add in your choice of coffee table complete the furnishing process.

Bold and Beautiful by Casey Fisher

DesignDecorBlog1_2010030914222

These chairs are not timid and neither is Casey Fisher, founder of Haute House.  His selection of fabrics and style have consistently been a mix of bold and beautiful.  Take the zebra and the medallion prints that have been paired with those beautiful velvety material.  They are fun!  I absolutely love his details in the button tufting on the inside back, the top arm panels, the contrast welting and the exposed solid wooden legs.  They can be pulled up to any formal dining tables or scattered as accent chairs.  These details make his collection stand out very tastefully and they sure keep the price beaters from copying.  They were comfortable for people who are tall and petite.  I know for a fact because I sat on them they walked out of the door.  We sold a half dozen of them for a top dollar at $1,200 each.

This original frame is the gem of Haute House, in my opinion.  Although I am sure that the company has increased its gem trunk or best sellers list.  Neiman Marcus and Horchow carry Haute House upholstery.
